Young Nurse of the Year Awards

A group of young nurses (aged under 30), are working with the support of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation to introduce initiatives that encourage support for young nurses, with the aim of retaining young nurses in the profession and in New Zealand.

One of these initiatives is establishing the Young Nurse of the Year awards to recognise and commend the excellent work young nurses do in New Zealand.

There will be seven categories to the awards including:

  • Outstanding New Graduate
  • Dedicated Nurse Leader
  • Improving the Quality of Nursing
  • Commitment to Education
  • Excellence in Clinical Practice
  • Contribution to Research
  • Overall winner.

Further information about the award ceremony and timeline for nominations will be available on their website www.thenursesstation.co.nz (which is currently under construction) in April.
